How to Enable Concurrent/Multiple RDP Sessions in Microsoft Windows 7

For our Windows XP users to be able to login to the Navision server, we make use of an intermediate machine on which we have loaded WIN 7 64 bit. The WIN XP users  login to the Navision server by loggin in remotely through this WIN 7 64 bit machine.

By default WIN 7 allows for only one login at a time and if another user tries to remotely login to this machine the user already logged in gets logged out.

To allow for concurrent users, the following needs to be done :
There is a patch that will permit you to patch the Remote Desktop Protocol in Windows to permit several concurrent connections without having to mess with the registry or manually copying of the patched dll files. You can download this utility here.

In order to apply the patch, all you have to do is download the file and unzip it, next run the corresponding file as administrator. If you are already logged in as administrator it is fine else right-click the exe file and select Run as Administrator. If your WIN 7 is 32-bit you should use UniversalTermsrvPatch-x86.exe and if it is 64-bit you should use UniversalTermsrvPatch-x64.exe.

We tried this out when our WIN & 64 bit machine was giving a problem.
It was restarting every now and then and we had changed the RAM but it did not help.
Now we have put in a new Hard disk after installing WIN 7 (64 bit) and done this enabling of multiple RDP sessions and at least now our users who are on WIN XP machines can login through this into the Navision server.
